With a degree in Ceramic Engineering
from Alfred University in 1960, Doug entered the U.S. Army as an Artillery
Officer and spent four and a half years on active duty, three of those in
Europe. He then joined the Industrial Ceramics (Refractories) Division of
Norton Company in November of 1964.
During his career at Norton, he held positions in
Sales and Business Management, including Manager of the Monolithic Refractories
SBU which served the foundry industry with induction furnace refractories.
Hired by Carborundum Company in January of 1988 as
Marketing Manager of Monofrax Refractories, Doug was appointed General manager
only a year later. In January of 1994, Doug Klosen joined Weaver Materiel
as Sales Engineer and is currently responsible for New England, New Jersey, and
Eastern portions of New York and Pennsylvania.
